Training for a race or a marathon while pregnant? You will want to read this NY Times interview.

It is more commonplace for pregnant runners to compete these days. Some are even training for marathons, as they juggle their family responsibilities and their training regimens.

Most pregnant runners can compete until they get into their 4th or 5th month with few problems, before their bodies get too large to have a proper gait or before the ligaments become too lax which can cause trains and injuries. Our practice has worked with a number of pregnant runners as some try to stay in their running regimen into the later stages of their pregnancy.
