Last year, I tried my first pair of On sneakers and I enjoyed their fit and styling. While I no longer run, they were great for walking.

On is a Swiss company that was started in 2010 and they have quickly become a major brand with different models for running, tennis, and other sports.

If you are a competitive runner, you may have tried running shoes for marathoners that were expensive and claimed to improve running speed while reducing injuries. Nike promoted their shoe by having a specially trained runner perform a sub 2 hour marathon which helped sell the shoe.

High-performance shoes are nothing new, but On has promoted their newest shoe according to the NY Times.

To help promote the new shoe called the Cloudboom Strike LS which is unique because of its one-piece construction, they used Hellen Obiri, the Kenyan distance runner and two-time Olympic silver medalist which is featured in this year’s Olympics in France. She won the Bronze during the 2024 Olympics and will be concentrating on running in international marathons as a retired olympian

The shoes, which will retail for $330 are sold here through the On website..

The shoe uses what On called Light spray technology and she will be running with the shoe during the Paris Olympic games.

Weighing in at 6 ounces, the shoe is said to reduce impact and is made by a robot arm that molds the upper using an almost mile-long synthetic monofilament and has a heat-fused into a foam rubber and carbon-fiber sole.
