The healthcare system has many conflicting opinions regarding our health, although nutritionists and medical evidence now show that inflammation is the cause of most common illnesses.

Healthcare providers continue telling their patients that cholesterol can be bad for us as long as the numbers are low enough although science shows us inflammation is the true cause.

Drug companies have studied the effect on patients taking anti-inflammatory drugs preventatively, and the results were promising however, there are side effects. Inflammation can be reduced by

  • Altering your diet by eating only low-inflammatory foods. Often these diets are difficult to stay on due to how boring the food choices are. The NY Times recently offered this advice on an anti-inflammatory diet
  • Reducing your weight. Recently, drugs like Ozempic (Wegovy) and many other Glp-1 inhibitors have become available. When inflammation is reduced, these drugs reduce weight and have secondary effects on health, including cardiovascular health.
  • Supplementation with ginger, Tumeric, and other anti-inflammatory foods. Our office carries Deflame, a once-per-day vitamin supplement that will reduce your inflammation.
  • Eat foods that feed the gut such as green leafy vegetables in your salads. The idea that food is medicine is catching on.
  • Reducing sugar and other non-complex carbohydrates.

It is inflammation that can cause arterial dissections, heart attacks, lung problems, and many digestive problems in the gut. A healthier gut reduces inflammation, which reduces man autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Leaky gut, and other health issues linked to metabolic disorders which can lead to diabetes.

Dementia may also be linked to inflammation as well.

While more of us are now taking GLP-1 inhibitors, some cannot tolerate the drugs, and the long-term effects are not understood, although as is typical, drug companies improve sales by offering the many benefits offered by the weight loss and perhaps, the drug itself. The problem is cost and are there other ways to eat and live a healthier lifestyle and avoid these drugs?

As someone who has taken Deflame and benefitted from its effects healthwise, I would suggest the government partake in promoting healthier foods, cooking, farm-to-table foods, and reducing inflammation through diet which can cost much less than Wegovy, which is more affordable in most countries than the USA.

Treating inflammation, the condition as we ordinarily do with drugs, when helping people eat and live healthier lives is insanity when a healthier public will have better lives and fewer diseases requiring medical care years later.
